Jennifer believes that when our needs are unmet or injured, it can result in distorted thinking and ineffective behaviors. We may feel unable to move past anxiety, depression, grief, fear, despair, anger, or trauma, and move into self-protection, isolation, or avoidance in order to cope. By creating a nurturing, nonjudgmental environment where it's safe to express feelings and emotions, she believes that you will identify root issues and move beyond coping to restoration.
Jennifer utilizes a client-centered approach, meeting clients where they are and giving space to process their stories and experiences. She has been trained in the Process Model of psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1. She incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS) and welcomes all parts with compassion, care, and curiosity.
Jennifer is an avid learner and holds two teaching credentials (multiple-subject and special education). She loves traveling and learning about other cultures. She has lived in Indonesia for six years and can speak Indonesian. In her spare time, she loves to be in nature, as well as spend time with her friends and family over the dinner table.
