IOP is often used in instances wherein a person's ability to engage in their everyday functions has been disrupted by increasingly severe mental health issues. IOP aims to stabilize symptoms, teach valuable emotional regulation and behavioral strategies and provide a place of comfort where real therapy can happen. Liffey Health team aims to provide short-term, intensive treatment so that a person can re-engage in preferred life activities. Clients are always linked with outpatient therapy when discharged from IOP to continue their mental health wellness.
